Weather: 15-25 mile winds-Partly cloudy-Temperatures in the mid 50's

Flathead High School won both girls and boys team championships and also won both individual championships as well. The classic match up for the meet was between two time state champion Heidi Lane and freshman Zoë Nelson. Nobody left early in anticipation for this race and it turned out to be a crowd-pleasing effort by both runners. Lane ran off the shoulder of Nelson the entire way and attempted several surges but to no avail. It did come down to the very end when Heidi broke stride and Zoë finished strong into the chute. The end result of this classic duel was both runners finished well under the state record of 17:45. Zoë finished at 17:29 and Lane in 17:31. Preceding the girl's race Kurt Michels totally dominated the boys' AA field by coming in at 15:03, which was the fastest time of the day. Kurt was hoping that some of his rivals would have challenged him but his fast start evidently discouraged the competition. The Flathead Braves made it five straight team titles, which ties the record of most consecutive wins by a double A school.
